MANILA, Philippines - The House of Representatives has started its deliberations on the P881 billion budget of the Department of Public Works and Highways amid increasing scrutiny of the anomalous flood control projects hounding the agency.
Present were Public Works Secretary Vivencio Dizon and several undersecretaries.
Appropriations Committee Chairman and Nueva Ecija Rep. Mikaela Suansing vowed for a comprehensive review of the DPWH's budget and explained that she would like to tie in flood control projects using Project NOAH (National Operational Assessment of Hazards) of the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute.
